A Little Story

Background: When Covid hit in 2020, our work life changed dramatically,we felt disheartened, out of control and worried about the future.

So we figured it was time to put to good use all of our experience in the hospitality and catering industry.And buy a B&B near the sea!

We left our home in the country, our regular jobs + regular income, family and friends. And packed quite literally everything we owned into a removal van.

And on the 10th March 2021 everything changed.

Where we lived, where we worked, what we did for a living, where we walked the dog. Our view.

So we had landed in Paignton in Devon. And bought Cherwood Guesthouse.

Martin became the Chef, Laundry Master and Maintenance Engineer.I wear the hat of Receptionist, Housekeeper and Waitress, Accountant, Digitial Marketer, Interior Designer, Gardener........!

And here we are. 5 years on. We haven't looked back.We love what we do and feel very fortunate for our success.We work hard.

Now we host our guests, we spend time doing all the things to make our guests feel special.We make it personal.

And from the 5* reviews, our guestbook comments and the repeat visitors each year, tell us.......we think we made the right decision!
